The Depth & Breadth of Berkeley: A Conversation with the Deans of the College of Letters & Science
|

Saturday, October 10, 11:00 am Undergraduate Academic Building Auditorium
|
Join three of the divisional deans of the College of Letters & Science for a panel discussion about the academic project of the university and the future of higher education at Berkeley.
What does it mean to be an undergraduate at a great research university at a moment of profound change in higher education? In this conversation, the deans of the divisions that make up the College of Letters & Science will reflect on the undergraduate experience, research and teaching, and the trends they are seeing across their fields and disciplines.
Together, they will explore how open-ended inquiry and fundamental research and teaching in the humanities, arts, and sciences shape the way students understand the world, develop new ideas, and imagine what is possible. They will consider how technology is transforming how students learn, how faculty teach, and how knowledge is created and shared.
Located in the brand new Undergraduate Academic Building auditorium, Homecoming guests are encouraged to attend the panel and mingle afterward for coffee and pastries with the deans.
